Garrard to retain Edmonds school board seat

EVERETT — Incumbent Thomas Garrard will retain the Edmonds school board District 4 seat, Thursday’s results showed.

Garrard led with 69.9% of the vote. Challenger Jason Moore trailed with 29.9%.

Incumbent Keith Smith, who was running unopposed, retained his seat for District 2 with 97.6% of the vote.

Garrard was appointed to the school board in June 2024 after former director Deborah Kilgore resigned. Before serving on the school board, he worked in public schools for 42 years. Garrard has two children who graduated from Edmonds-Woodway High School. His campaign focused on protecting public education, advocating for state funding and fostering inclusivity.
