EVERETT — Snohomish County District Court judge Tam Bui won the race to earn a seat as a judge in the state’s Court of Appeals, results on Monday showed.

Bui led with 52.7% of the vote. Moore trailed with 47.0% of the vote.

Bui, 58, has served as a Snohomish County District Court judge since 2007. She previously served as a public defender and worked at the Washington Appellate Defender Association. Bui has also served on the state’s Board for Judicial Administration.

Moore, 61, was appointed as a Snohomish County Superior Court judge in 2021. Before becoming a judge, she worked as a practicing lawyer for three decades, spending time as a prosecutor and at a civil firm. She had argued cases in front of the Court of Appeals and the state Supreme Court.
