Benaroya Hall will close to this summer to complete $20 million renovation
Benaroya Hall will briefly shut down this summer but will reopen in time for the newly announced 2026-2027 Seattle Symphony season.
The venue, at 200 University St. in the heart of downtown Seattle, will close for six weeks beginning in July and will reopen in early September with reimagined public spaces, including a new welcome desk and ticket concierge, a café with expanded seating in The Boeing Co. Gallery, a renovated Overlook Lounge, and a new community room for expanded education and community events.
Work will begin in the spring before wrapping up during the closure. The project architect is Mithun, and Sellen is the general contractor.
The updates are funded through Benaroyas $20 million Amplify capital campaign, which calls the 28-year-old venue an important landmark and civic gathering space. Benaroya is the most popular performing arts venue in Seattle in terms of visitors.
