Issaquah looks to drop $58 million plan for new City Hall

Issaquah is looking to scrap its prior plan to build a new City Hall.

The city will instead purchase the former Ednetics building at 1055 NW Maple St. for $12.9 million and relocate its home base to the new site, if the City Council approves the proposal at its Monday meeting.

The city said Thursday that its mayor, Mark Mullet, has signed an agreement to potentially buy the property.

Previous planning estimated that construction of a new, 35,000-square-foot City Hall would cost between $44 million and $57.8 million and could take around four years.
