Delta rolls out 2 new routes between Seattle and Europe

Two more international flights connecting the Pacific Northwest to Europe are coming to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport next week.

Delta Air Lines is launching a nonstop routes to Rome on Wednesday and Barcelona, Spain, on Thursday, adding to its existing international service from Seattle to Europe. The move boosts its rivalry Alaska Air Group, which rolled out its own route between Seattle and Rome on Tuesday.

“Delta’s commitment runs deep in Seattle, from our people on the ground to our global ambitions in the skies,” Delta's then-president, Glen Hauenstein, said in announcing the flight last year.

Delta’s Rome service will run four times per week on a widebody Airbus A330-900neo. The flights to Barcelona, a first for Sea-Tac, will be flown on the same type of aircraft, with departures scheduled three times per week.
