Sound Transit sponsors Juneteenth events across region

Events boost soccer and the Black experience

Sound Transit is celebrating Juneteenth by supporting community events in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. The activations meld soccer and the Juneteenth holiday, with two events occurring on Juneteenth, the same day the U.S. National Team plays Australia in Seattle.

Each event is free and family friendly, with Sound Transit staff in attendance providing information, sharing opportunities and promoting travel via transit.

The upcoming events are as follows:

Pierce County:

WayOut Kids, a youth organization offering educational after-school and summer programs, will hold the largest Juneteenth event in Washington state.
Juneteenth Festival – A Road to Economic Freedom
June 19, Noon–6 p.m.
Haub Family Field at LeMay Car Museum, Tacoma.
