GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The 988 suicide prevention hotline is making a difference.

For the state of Wisconsin, that hotline is operated out of Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, located in Green Bay.

988 became operational in 2022 thanks to an act of Congress. The bill was authored by Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin.

A new report released last week details the effectiveness of this crisis hotline, particularly among young people aged 15-34.

The Journal of the American Medical Association published its findings last week, combing through two and a half years of data.
