Wrapping individual uncooked hamburger patties to be frozen until you're ready to cook them.

I've always used aluminum foil, but would saran wrap or press-and-seal do just as well
or better?

Or just wrap in freezer paper. Worked fine for folks decades ago.

Not air tight. Paper to separate individual items and then put then in a freezer bag.
