Facebook : Unable to block some groups
One friend posts quite a bit of animal shelters with animals to adopt.
I use the “snooze “ and “hide” people or groups quite a bit.
Recently i have been unable to hide several groups as posted by friends.
I believe FB is deliberately allowing this.
I unfollowed the friend instead, which means i don’t see most of her posts.

... not an expert but I have encountered the same problem. My take was that I did turned off the group posts, but was getting the friend's posts. The friend shared the post, making it their post... still, I got less from the group. I was added to the group long ago, and manually left the group, also. Since the friend was worth seeing on the newsfeed, I didn't unfollow... after some time, I saw less and less from the group.
