Any hints or very simplistic instructions for opening an odt file on my old Android phone

Use chrome browser if that matters? I can see pdf files but it says can't open file after downloading. Kits a newsletter from a friend)

There are other app sources if you don't want use Google, but that's by far the most used.

I don't have any recommendations for which particular app is best, sorry.
