I finally gave up on Windows for everyday use, I have two Chromebooks that do everything I need...

I had an old Widows desktop I bought refurbished a few years back, it finally got so slow I quit using it...All I use a PC for is internet surfing and streaming YouTube videos and maybe a Prime or Netflix video. The Chromebooks seem to work fine for this...just wondering if others folks are still using Windows for day to day home surfing and such?

Google is a spy agency.

I'd personally install some linux variant. Chromium? I install linux on older systems.

YMMV, of course.

Kid, a senior in HS, still uses windows, Wife and our TV use Macs and I'm on linux. The Mrs MacBook has windows on it, only use it for Tax software. I just haven't gotten a good Virtual Machine of Windows running on my Linux laptop yet.

For anyone struggling with an aging Windows computer, linux is the way to go. Linux has really matured over 30 some years now. There are some "immutable" versions, that update smoothly like Mac and Windows and can be set up mostly Google free, outside of youtube, which is google owned.
