Over sensitive Siri?

I keep my iPhone about 10 ft away from where I watch TV but on occasions Siri "reacts" to what is said on TV or my comments.

Spouse's iPhone is closer, less than 2 ft.

We were watching the last installment of PBS "Living with Hitler.". When the Germans started Operation Barbarossa, invading the Soviet Union ang got caught in the harsh winter, I asked: why did he do this?

"Because he was an idiot" replied spouse.

And then Siri chimed: "That's not nice.."
