when i cant update my venerable mac book air using mac os i may be moving to linux

and trying get apps that are as close to my mac apps . i may try fedora first and later suse . i used suse early on in my computing carrer. update : thanks to all who responded . u all are great. ill have to check out my mem size and available mem and all that happy stuff.

extremely functional, etc. I haven’t used Linux in about 8 yrs though, so things might have changed.

Lost some typing so here’s the short list:
Kubuntu and friends (lubuntu, xubuntu), xfce, knoppix (I like knoppix) and Linux Mint. I ran mint on a lot of old intel boxes.
Bodhi gets good reviews.

Good luck. Devil’s only in the details, as always.

I have lots of apps that are mac-like. In fact, most of my apps on mac are open source, given that I don’t like to pay for software.
