I recently purchased a refurbished DELL and it seemed to be working fine. All of a sudden

the pointer is going off on its own and I am perplexed. I have checked for malware and have found nothing. Avast was installed and I've gotten rid of most of that. Any ideas on what is causing the pointer to be so crazy? Even have a new "mouse"....

is when I had my Wacom Tablet hooked up and the pen had been left on it accidentally.
Does it go to the same place every time or it is random?

Does it happen if the mouse is not connected? If no, it's the mouse or its driver. If yes, and the computer has a touch pad, disable the touch pad and see if the problem occurs. If no, it's the touch pad or its driver.

If the mouse is wireless put the USB device for the mouse in a different USB port on the computer and see if the problem occurs. If no, just keep the USB device in that port and declare victory. I've seen incompatibility with mouse USB devices and ports on Dell computers. If the problem persists with the device in any port it's time to update all the drivers for the ports and mouse.
