(242,193 posts)He really is a terrific Dad. You can see it in his expression when he's with little kids and babies...
mimi85
(1,805 posts)He does have that magic touch with little ones. He'd be a great babysitter.
Rhiannon12866
(242,193 posts)They just seem to be drawn to him and vice versa. It's not every guy who can quiet a crying baby, but he's got the touch.

The last guy always looked like they disgusted him. Funny the children looked at him the same way.

Perfect reminder of what tavalon was refering to, Jamaal. I think a lot of us remember that shot. The baby spoke for us!

(314,095 posts)fave too, fresh. "Tender touch" is right.. like he feels how fragil they are and sending the proper Love Beams!
PBO's a baby schoomzer~
tavalon
(27,985 posts)and one of the things I like about the way our President holds babies is that he truly holds them instead of the way most politicians use them as props. I've never seen Obama do that. He holds them the way a truly connected father who often held his own daughters as babies would hold them.
I truly love that about him. It's one of the reasons I often say, even if I don't like what he's doing politically, he is a man with a good soul. It comes out when he holds children.

(27,985 posts)Baby as political prop and baby being interacted with and well. President Obama doesn't give a flying fluke whether this makes a good political picture (it actually does), he's paying attention to the baby. I love that.
Rhiannon12866
(242,193 posts)And the babies can tell.
tavalon
(27,985 posts)That is a man who knows how to nurture children. There is no way, no how that he left the child rearing to his wife. That was clearly a team effort and he has kept up his skills. So has Mrs. Obama, of course.
Yeah, I love the way these two interact with kids, their own and others.
Rhiannon12866
(242,193 posts)The man obviously loves babies. Both of the Obamas are just wonderful with kids, love to watch the First Lady, too, especially when she brings Bo...
Cha

(314,095 posts)affect babies the same way? I don't think so.

(314,095 posts)Wonder if they ever lament picking up or taking them from their parents?
Might be Easy for them to brush off but people who are into reality know too well what we have here.
Is that an SS guy at the other end of the poor little crying baby?
Rhiannon12866
(242,193 posts)Character, trust, qualities like that. They could tell whether they were just being handed off for a photo op. If only the parents - and those watching - had taken the hint... *sigh*

We're so lucky to have him. After he has finished serving his term, the complainers are finally going to realize what a good thing we've got.
