TOLEDO, Ohio — The Libbey Glass strike entered its 18th day Monday, with workers continuing to picket outside the north Toledo factory around the clock after contract talks collapsed in late August.

Union members said there have been no new developments, though some shared off-camera that frustrations have been mounting over the past three weeks. Workers said maintaining bargaining rights remains a major sticking point.

One 20-year Libbey employee said the dispute makes him feel unappreciated by management, and that employees are prepared to strike until a fair deal is reached.

This marks the longest labor dispute at Libbey since 1974, when a strike lasted two and a half months. The company’s most recent strike, in 2016, lasted 15 days.
