Boeing workers to vote on third contract offer after 80+ day strike

The IAM District 837 represents over 3200 employees who assemble fighter jets and munitions at Boeing's St. Louis location.

BERKELEY, Mo. — Union members at Boeing in Berkeley are preparing to vote Sunday on their third contract offer following an 81-day strike over pay, benefits, and workplace concerns.

On Friday, machinists held the line in cooler temperatures with signs in hand, chanting and caroling, and bonfires and Christmas trees laid out. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) represents roughly 3,000 employees at Boeing’s St. Louis facilities.

These members work on critical programs, including the F-15 fighter jet, F/A-18, and other Air Dominance projects, performing assembly, mechanical, and systems work that is essential to building and maintaining the aircraft. Their roles are highly skilled, requiring precision and technical expertise, and the union has long advocated for better wages, benefits, and safe working conditions for these workers.

Boeing says the latest proposal includes significant wage growth, increased bonuses, expanded vacation and sick time, and enhanced health and retirement benefits for workers and their families. Leadership emphasizes that the offer addresses concerns raised during the strike and demonstrates the company’s commitment to fair treatment.
