Remembering Kent Wong, Former Director of the UCLA Labor Center and Member of the Labor 411 Foundation Board

We lost a dear friend this month with the passing of Kent Wong, former director of the UCLA Labor Center and member of the Labor 411 Foundation Board of Directors.

Wong was an activist, leader, and brother in the labor movement. After he joined the UCLA Labor Center in 1991, he grew the program from three employees to over 40. His leadership made the UCLA Labor Center into the indispensable institution that it has become.

The Labor 411 Foundation was honored to have Wong on our Board of Directors. His commitment to workers' rights and social justice made him a valuable member of our board and community.

The Los Angeles labor movement owes much to Wong for his contributions over the years. He will be greatly missed for his activism and passion for fighting for the underserved. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones and thank him for making the world a better place.
