I can do most every type of virtual asst, desktop publishing gig. I have years of experience in journalism, webdesign and logo/marketing...
Been out of the loop for a few years - worked in education and ran programs at Boys & girls Club. But the physicality of the jobs were too much and I went on disability in fall 2018...havent really recovered.
I just need to find something online to keep afloat!
I'm 51, and because I dont do code or the serious techy stuff, and I dont have a BA, so qualifying on paper is hard. How do I get gigs?
Im looking at the pinned post of links here in this group. Any other ideas would be great. I gotta turn this around!

(1,425 posts)Over my life I've found that contacts are far more important than qualifications. I've gotten jobs I wasn't remotely qualified for on paper. I just knew people -and sometimes they knew people who could get me a job.
Somebody you know can steer you towards a job in all probability.

Im proud to have worked in a "real" newsroom, before the internet crashed the industry

(8,510 posts)you could drive as school bus. Always looking for drivers and most pay 20.00 per hour + . That's what I did 11 years ago when I ran out of options.

(29,076 posts)She's a former high school teacher and she loves it. She does individual lessons and says it's tricky scheduling because of the time difference but the pay makes up for that. I have no idea how to hook you up and she's moved to Maine and I haven't talked to her in months but a Web search might be a place to start. If I can get in touch with her I'll see what I can find out. ❤
