CaetanoBus delivered first hydrogen buses to Finland (for a pilot)

CaetanoBus has delivered its first hydrogen-powered electric buses for a pilot in Finland, marking a step in the company’s expansion across Europe. The Portuguese company already has more than 215 electric hydrogen-powered buses sold in Europe, has supplied a fleet in Madrid earlier this year and is close to launch (at Busworld) a new generation bus range developed with Chinese CRRC.

The H2.City Gold units were introduced in Jyväskylä during WRC Finland week in early August, operating on selected routes — including the rally service park and surrounding roads — to test performance under real-world conditions. The demonstrations allowed observation of vehicle quality, passenger comfort, and the hydrogen system’s performance.

Finland became another European country to adopt hydrogen mobility, with CaetanoBus supplying its first hydrogen buses. The five H2.City Gold buses were integrated into the region’s public transport through a pilot led by the Central Finland Mobility Foundation (Cefmof) and leased to Koiviston Auto Jyväskylä.
