Amtrak cancels some upstate New York and New England service due to severe weather

This is from WPTZ, the NBC affiliate in Burlington, Vermont.

Amtrak cancels service for severe weather

Amtrak's Adirondack, Ethan Allen, and Maple Leaf trains are all under service disruptions Monday because of ongoing severe weather

Updated: 10:40 AM EDT Jul 10, 2023

More than a dozen Amtrak trains are experiencing disrupted service in the northeast, north of New York City.

At 3:10 a.m. on Monday, Amtrak began announcing cancellations on social media due to ongoing severe weather. Some trains, including the Maple Leaf and the Adirondack lines, were canceled altogether.

Others, including Empire Service and Ethan Allen trains, were scheduled to start or terminate in Albany, instead of their original destinations.

The announcement comes as parts of Vermont and New York experience heavy downpours and widespread flood alerts, which are expected to continue throughout the day.
