CSX coal train #C350 @ MP 100 near Halifax NC, A Line - 41 cars on the ground.
Halifax is north of Rocky Mount NC.
Amtrak has cancelled both Meteor's which are enroute; #97 at Washington DC and
#98 at Jacksonville FL. Also cancelled are the Floridian #41 departing Chicago tonight,
and #41 (16) at Washington DC. #40 (17) ends at Tampa.
Both Auto Train's are also cancelled and being towed back to originating stations

Long distance rail is really stressed recently. We had the nearly total breakdown on the California Zephyr when the downed power lines stopped traffic for nearly 24 hours, requiring a hard reset with a couple of canceled trains EB and WB; CZ is finally back on schedule. Problems from flooding and from rusting train cars disrupted the EB and other northern route services. Now this will screw up the southeast except for the Crescent and Piedmont.

Really need those new trainsets that might regain a little slack in the system. Still nowhere near enough capacity to meet growing demand.
