EU chief blames Iran for conflict, but says she told Netanyahu diplomacy 'best solution'

KANANASKIS, Canada — European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen said she told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday that diplomacy was ultimately best on Iran, but stopped short of calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Von der Leyen said that she agreed with Netanyahu in a telephone call that “Iran should not have a nuclear weapon, without any question.”

--snip--

Von der Leyen — who has been critical of Israel over its offensive in Gaza — placed the blame for the new conflict on Iran, pointing to the UN nuclear watchdog’s finding earlier in the week that Tehran was not in compliance with its obligations.

“In this context, Israel has the right to defend itself. Iran is the principal source of regional instability,” von der Leyen said.

And this situation puts the entire world at risk.

The problem is - Netanyahu doesn't have the USA to tell him to stand down and work through this diplomatically. No.

Instead, he has ConOld Trump telling everyone that 'we have control over the airspace'.

People had their 'reasons' for not voting for Harris in November. I hope they are happy now. Because NONE of this shit would be happening if folks had just voted for the Black/Indian woman married to a man who happens to be Jewish.

In an act of self-defense, Netanyahu's cabinet overruled Trump. And this decision is universally supported by all of Israel's political factions: https://www.timesofisrael.com/opposition-rallies-around-iran-campaign-despite-long-opposing-pms-leadership/

Isn't going to listen to that doddering old fool. Why should he?

Trump is dumber than a box of rocks. I wouldn't take orders from him either.

And he can't be trusted. No world leader can tell him ANYTHING.
