Russia's Real Goal in US-Ukraine War Peace Talks - Econ Lessons

Mark Biernat, an economist and Russian watcher here, my claim is backed by observational experience and history. Here is my analysis. Russia’s geopolitical strategy can be summed up in Nietzsche’s words: “a yes, a no, a straight line, a goal.” The Kremlin’s goal is not peace — it is domination. Every so-called peace summit, every ceasefire proposal, every negotiation over Ukraine is about one thing: re-legitimizing Russia on the world stage, lifting sanctions, making money on oil, and using false promises to seize more territory.

Moscow presents itself as the “Third Rome,” but in a perverted and hollow form. Unlike the cultural, institutional, and spiritual legacy of Rome and Byzantium, Russia’s claim is stripped of ideals, art, and true religion. It is an empire without substance, using only raw power and deception to pursue its expansion.

Even beyond the current czar, the Kremlin already has hand-picked successors ready to continue its imperial project once Washington eases sanctions and reopens the door to economic relief. This is not about one leader — it is about an unbroken line of Russian expansionism.

Ukraine’s goals, by contrast, are universal and just: freedom, territorial integrity, integration with Europe, peace through NATO and EU partnerships, and self-determination.

This video exposes the clash between Russia’s manipulative “straight line” to dominance and Ukraine’s fight for genuine freedom — and why the world must not be fooled by Russia’s twisted calls for peace.

We want to make the world a better place, and this has to start with a commitment to the objective truth based on history and evidence.

It's certainly possible that putin believes he can easily influence trump to stop sending arms to Ukraine, making his acts of aggression much easier.
