Israel says it will open routes to allow aid convoys into Gaza

Israel's military says it will open humanitarian corridors to allow aid convoys into the Gaza Strip, after weeks of mounting international pressure and warnings of starvation.
In a statement on Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also announced what it called a "local tactical pause in military activity" for humanitarian purposes in three areas.
It came after Israel said it made an airdrop of aid into Gaza of "seven packages of aid containing flour, sugar and canned food".
There have been growing calls for Israel to let more aid into Gaza following months of limited supply to the territory's two million people. Israel denied what it called "the false claim of deliberate starvation" in Gaza.

Gazas land borders must immediately be opened 24/7, making these undignified airdrops unnecessary. Lets not forget that over 100 people have been starved to death by Israel. [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu must face international justice for the crime of starvation, Gunness told Al Jazeera.
Gunness explained that Israel implements huge obstacles to the UN and other aid agencies.
Israel has shown itself, time and time again, to say its going to be letting in aid. Then of course, it gets delayed, they get rerouted, the convoys get shot at. Once they arrive, the warehouses and the food distribution services and centres have been destroyed and damaged by Israel, he added.

A ten-hour "tactical pause" is useless when the conditions are so horrible. It's a fig-leaf at best, an evil charade at worst.
Further, it takes 160 air drops to provide a single meal for the entire population.
