we preferred staying with Costco strictly for the periodic adjustments we need (we're hard on glasses).

extreme near/far sightedness where an imprecise fit causes vision problems and even dizziness/wooziness.

Or is the issue that they are online & such transactions that are not face to face tend to be less precision fit?

Depending on your prescription, you can probably get a pair less than $100. And they take returns. Think it’s worth trying.

Would progressive trifocals with an extra prism be a complex rx?

I will say their cheapest frames are not very good quality, but if you move up to the $30 and up category, they’re fine.

what they do is feed the numbers into the grinder, put in the blanks, and let the machine do its thing. If you've measured the distance between your pupils correctly before sending them the information, you should be golden. They'll pop the finished lenses into the frames and send them to you. The same thing happens in walk-in places.

If you've got some sort of fancy eye disease requiring a complicated prescriptiion, you're probably better off going into a bricks and mortar place, any ultra complicated grinding will need to be dialed in separately.

(Yes, I have the fancy eye diseases and had to endure grumbling from the techs but when glasses improved my vision, the walk-in places got them right)

I need 1 for my gs with very slight astigmatism. I presume this would be a simple rx.

For mine, I want trifocals with progressive lenses & need an "extra prism" to help my eyes team more effectively. No fancy eye disease, but is this ghe kind of thing that would most likely be ok to order from Zinni?

You do have quite a few things going on there. You might get lucky and get new glasses that work just fine, but if something’s off it would be difficult to try and fix it.

Warby Parker at least has physical locations where you can go in and get help in person. They’ll cost more than Zenni, but still be cheaper than at the eye dr’s office.

Do they do one hr glasses?

I went to bricks and mortar places for mine. I knew they'd do a better measuring job than I did. I also got the glasses back a little more quickly.

I want a glasses merchant who will manufacture new pairs based on the old prescription etched into the lenses of the old pair.

I don't want a new prescription. I simply want to duplicate my old glasses.
