Of course Season 2 of Man on the Inside is nearly the same treat the first one was
Little less focus on the "case" and more on interpersonal relationships, and it's kinda schmaltzy and formulaic, but what a cast, it's all perfectly acted. And it's pretty heartful, even profound at times.
I knew EVERYone from SOMEwhere, it's that kind of show
Lumberg from Office Space, Gary Cole, is somehow a way bigger asshole than Lumberg was
There was George Lopez's wife from the show aka Constance Marie (OMG I have a crush on her, she's still SO beautiful at 60 yo, in fact she's like 40 days older than Kamala, who's also beautiful), Monk's original assistant Natalie, Mendoza's crazy boyfriend from Brooklyn Nine Nine, Mendoza herself of course, Angela from Bones, one of the firefighters from Tacoma FD, etc.
(Just in case, I'm telling you these, so you won't be annoyed the whole time this season with "where do I know them from!?!" )
And how can ya go wrong with David Strathairn and Ted Danson?
It took me exactly one aerial shot of "Wheeler College" to know it was actually Mills College in Oakland

(42,130 posts)Last season had an interpersonal comm subplot of the daughter not being kept fully informed of his new job.
I also enjoyed the one with the general manager of the facility.
Looking forward to watching tomorrow; thanks for your comments.

I would say overall it's a tiny step down from Season 1 but nothing major it didn't jump the shark or anything. If there's a weak link it's clearly jackass Gary Cole and his insipid wife being OTT and cliche, but everything else is quite nice, and it's fun to hang out with these folks and like I say a lot of it is heartful and occasionally profound and it's all very well acted. Plus it's all the Bay Area, and there's a definite liberal bent to the proceedings, but without being cloying or too on-the nose.
If you loved the first one, you'll definitely at least really like this one even if it's not quite the equal of S1 (IMHO, ymmv).
It's not quite as good as the first season, but it's still great fun to watch. Ted is a gem!
