Related: About this forumAnyone into alternative recovery programs to AA?
I've been doing SMART recovery and it's been quite effective. But I've heard of other programs like Recovery Dharma and one based on Native American traditions. Anyone have any recs?

Sober Faction has chat groups, too.
Recovery Dharma is based upon Buddhist principles.

(5,133 posts)Not sure it exists anymore. Their writings were mostly about what was wrong with AA (which I mainly agreed with), but one thing they said really burrowed into my soul and became my interior mantra: I will never drink again. I will never change my mind.

(26,456 posts)Don't focus on who you were, but on who you want to be. I think that's a pretty decent mantra for anyone, not just those in recovery.
