Related: About this forumHas anyone gone through Cymbalta (Duloxetine) withdrawal?
I've been taking it for post-shingles neuralgia for a couple of years, but due to an unfortunate confluence of events, I'm facing my last daily dose tomorrow. It may be another week, or more, before I can get my prescription refilled.
I'm wondering if anyone here has gone through withdrawal after taking the med for an extended time. Sounds like I'm in for a *not good* week or so.

(46,115 posts)Do whatever you can to get your refill as soon as possible. I suggest you call your Docs office ASAP and explain the situation.

(73,309 posts)Sorry about that.
I'm in between doctors. The old one retired 6 months ago, and the earliest I can see the new one is on the 22nd.
Looks like I'm in for a nice long Monday morning on "hold" waiting to talk to somebody.

(13,189 posts)For some reason I had no withdrawal symptoms. Tapered it off. A little depression, because it has anti depressant effects. My meds got adjusted and I was ok.
My pain came back tho like it was before the cymbalta, but luckily it was time to redo my back shots.
The pain got under control.
Been off cymbalta ever since and Im doing ok.

(13,243 posts)Like most of the other things prescribed for me, cymbalta worked great for the first 6 -8 months at relieving my pain, but it has gradually been losing effectiveness since then.
It'll probably be good for me to go off of it for awhile, if I can manage the pain with Tylenol and keep from going into too deep of a mood hole.
