It's going to be a good day. No, it's going to suck.

That was the conversation with myself as I drove in to work.

Unacceptable. That was the "old me" and that didn't work.

So instead, I vowed to make it a great day at work! That's the new me. No choice in the matter, a new attitude is a lot easier than months of mental torture.

And a hell of a lot better than the psych ward.

Our attitudes can make a difference in how we get through our day.

I recently had an MRI, and I loathe them. But, beforehand, I told myself that I would be fine. I was going to lie there and get through it, and funny thing........I did.

I talked myself into being OK with it.

It's always worth a try!

Thanks for your support.

I have talked myself into conquering a lot of fears lately. It is very liberating.

Next spring, I have vowed to take swimming lessons. I am pretty afraid of the water, I had a bad experience when I was 5 years old. My idiot BIL thought it would be funny to throw me in a lake. Sink or swim. I sank into about 8 feet of water and almost drowned.

Needless to say, he is no longer my BIL.

On swimming: I used to be afraid of the water too. My parents had me take two half-hour sessions back to back, with an instructor. He was in the water with me, and reassured me that he wouldn't let anything happen to me. I trusted him, and learned how to swim in that hour.

You might try something like that. It really saved my life!

I hear ya about the former BIL!
