Related: About this forumI admit that my decision to attend a 'No Kings' rally, today, has triggered a sizable degree of anxiety
I'm not going to let it deter me.
I've attending many protest rallies. In Flint I was a part of a group that gathered every Sunday at a high visibility intersection to protest the Iraq war. I did this for 4+ years. I've been a part of rallies in Lansing, Chicago and Washington DC. At the weekly Flint rallies we had guns pointed at us, people swerving their cars towards us, been called every name in the book, and saw the FBI taking down our license plate numbers. It only made me more determined.
I'll be at this one with my brother, niece, and some friends, so that's good, but for the first time I'm feeling uneasy.
I took my anxiety medication and I have a supplemental medication that I'll take, too. We're walking so maybe that will help me relax. I'll fight the urge to pour gin in to my water bottle.

(27,580 posts)The good news is, there are FAR more gatherings taking place in this part of Michigan - some in VERY red districts.
Time to pop my other pill. I'll be reporting back, afterwards.
