Related: About this forumI had the most wonderful day today. It reminded me, life can still be good even in the middle of
Our nation falling apart, atrocities all around us, looming war. We can still somehow find little bits of happiness.
My husband took me to the National Gallery of Art. And I got to see beautiful paintings. Then we had a nice lunch, followed by custard, and naps in our respective recliners while listening to an audible book from the number one ladies detective agency series.
I was grateful for every single moment of it, and thought, how wonderful my life is, away from my family of origin and away from any toxic people in general.
I look at Trump and see my father. And my older sister and brother turned cruel and sociopathic, too.
Every day, I think at least one time, I am so glad I escaped my family of origin.

(611 posts)I think all lovely days should include a nap.
LiberalLoner
(11,412 posts)When we were all in kindergarten (I am assuming this was a universal experience?) when we all had mats on which to take a short midday nap?
Such naps should be a normal part of life, I think.
