I'm not doing so good.

2025 has hurt me very bad. I lost the man that I love back in March. I have yet to get anyone to install a ramp for me yet. I've been fighting for years now. And I'm stuck in my apartment all day except when my caregiver can take me to get my cashers check at the start of the month for rent.
I have tried to end it, but I was found. It's been a couple of months ago now and the city has yet to fix my door all the way yet.
I have no family to come and help. And now my only access to the internet, my phone, won't change right.
I'm miserable and all I can do is cry

1. I'm not good with advice on things I know nothing about

since I've lived a life so different than others. I have been suicidal due to evil people in my life but never been in a relationship, never been terribly lonely, never had to rely on a ramp that was not there. All I know is the DU needs you. Your country needs you. My country needs you. Every single voice matters. I do know about crying and how suffering a loss that way, with tears, releases endorphins in the end that allows you to connect to the world in a new way. One thing I wish I had heard back in the day was when you are going through hell, keep going.

Call 988 for proper advice and resources to help you get through this crisis.

Take care of you.

2. I need so much help.

Trump has done so much damage. All the support that was there is gone.
I lost everything because I had to go to the hospital at the start of the year and was tricked into into long term care. I had to fight to keep the apartment. I've lost my love, my dog all because of what happened at the first of this year. Medicaid says my stay should have been covered but the place is threating to take all the money I get from SSI. They can come after it because it's a direct deposit to a debit card.
Everything in this apartment is all I have left of the life we built.
I've tried all the resources and I can't even get a lawyer to help me. And something, somewhere, somehow keeps blocking me from ending it.
The pain and weight of everything is to much. I'm broken. And I'm cursed to be forced to live through it.

I am sending hugs and healing thoughts. Not much help, I know. My hubs might be able to help with a ramp if you were close. We don't have much money, but he is handy with a nail gun and saw. Maybe someone could set up a Go Fund Me to help you. You may be able to protect your funds by calling your bank and finding out the protocol to dispute charges. In most cases you have to write a letter disputing the charges to the entity that is charging and you need a copy of the letter to show you disputed the charge. Make SURE you get accurate information on this because the wrong info puts your funds at risk. I wish you the best. Please keep us updated.

Medicaid should be paying for it if they said they should. Call a manager there and ask for a letter acknowledging this asap. Put that in the letter to your bank.

5. This could have been written by me.

(Except the hospital part. They are going to have to drag me to one, after the last time I went for the most simple thing and was charged enough to feed a small nation for a month. And, yes... I requested a line itemized bill and the total went down almost $300 dollars. Typical.

I wish I had more to say. You are not alone in this.

Please feel free to send a message if you want to talk. I suspect we would have a grand ole time discussing how things could be better, but this society simply does not seem to want it. (A topic that is always a good one to discuss, mainly because, again, we could change it all, but we don't seem to want to badly enough. Yet. It is so frustrating!)

https://operationrampitup.com for a ramp? I agree that you should contact your bank about Medicaid saying your stay was covered. Maybe they can prevent the facility from taking your money. I would also contact a local news station that has a consumer advocate about the facility threatening to take your money from your account. I’m hoping for the best for you.
