Self Medicating with Alcohol

(I posted most of this comment on the Addiction & Recovery group this am)

I know that when I became, painfully aware of my anxiety & depression, wine became my first 'medication.' It doesn't seem to be as effective a treatment as talk therapy & perscribed SSRIs though.

I treated my anxiety and depression the same way, and it was NOT a good solution.

There do need to be comprehensive approaches for people who go through this though, IMO. Approaches seem rather a la carte.
