So I reached out to 2 old friends

I have not spoken with for several years. Not falling out, just me drifting away. I'll be getting together with them in early January for a dinner out. Yeah me I guess.

I was quite happy to get good responses and am having lunch on the 5th with the old friend. Yay.

I had heard of some poor health from old friends in this year's Christmas Cards. Sent them get well notes and contact information. Heard from one and we are reconnecting by email and such, so not all bad.

Time flies by.
Old friends, with whom you shared your youth or early adulthood, know you ina way that later friends never will.
Old friends know where you're coming from when you speak or interacting with them.

And many are gone in the blink of an eye, forever.

And I'll be making some new friends this year - daughter got engaged and I have his family to meet. I think that happens in March, when my ex is planning to hold an engagement party for them. His parents seem very gregarious, so this should be interesting.
