... Got interested in making a baked pasta with yesterday's OP on Lasagana by MOMFUDSKI. I'm making stuffed shells.
Mushrooms: sliced in the sauce, chopped in the filling or both?
Doing mise en place now.

(68,894 posts)... sometime mushroom add too much moisture. Maybe in this case mushrooms in the filling might be a bridge too far?

(5,168 posts)Mushrooms need longer cooking than other foods. So for a casserole they get precooked before going into sauce. Filling depends on what else is in filling. You can also put some across top as a decoration too. I like pasta oven dishes as long as they are moist.

(11,306 posts)I usually sautee mushrooms before putting them in the body of the lasagna (or on pizza) since they seem to throw off a lot of liquid as they cook.
