(11,201 posts)I like to add smoked sausage (doesn't need to be andouille sausage, and even ham works well) to the beans when I heat them up. My husband, from NOLA, adds a bit of extra water to thin the beans down. Add Crystal hot sauce (or any hot sauce) to taste in your own bowl with the red beans and rice. Enjoy.

plant a few of those camellia beans in a sunny spot, they may come in handy as the economy crashes.
