I Was Watching Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives...

...and the segment goes to a pizza joint with a woodfired brick oven.
The owner pulls out a wooden pizza peel that was 26" by 26" with what looked like a 12 - 15" handle!
Because they make a >>>>>>>>>>>> 24" pizza!!!
One pie, 2 feet across.
I've never seen a pizza that big.

Chicago style is not pizza. It's a tomato pie with cheese. John Stewart said it best... mitch96 Apr 2025 #4

The overly thick, bready crust isn't authentic Chicago. The real Chicago pizza only has about a half-inch crust that's very crispy on the bottom.
Most of what pass for Chicago deep dish aren't even close to the real thing.

Omg what I'd give to get real pizza in this red shithole...

I'm not a fan of deep dish personally.

Malnatti's and Uno's are very different.
Uno pizza has a thinner crust that is very crunchy on the bottom.
Malnatti's bastardized the deep dish pizza. And, there are very few pizzerias around here that don't do think crust, too.
