Went mushrooming today and we only found 11. Very disappointed 😞. Loretta found 9 and I found 2. Hardly enough for a big mess yet. Guess who found the two smallest ones?

I wonder why Loretta has such a knack for finding them.

I'm on my own, first time ever, I think. I had strip steak, broiled with butter and garlic. I roasted some green beans, topped those with crispy onions. I baked a loaf of bread this morning, so I had a slice of garlic toast. Happy Easter!

Lamb shanks (garlic, onion, paprika, thyme) slow-braised. Rice and asparagus. For dessert, my second try at the 1943 prune spice cake. (It looks like all purpose flour was the right correction.)

Mashed taters and gravy
Brussels sprouts (my son fixed)
Shredded carrot raisin salad
Easter bread
Cheesecake with mixed fresh berries

Stir fry shrimp and veggies in sauce over white rice (leftover)

mashed potatoes, asparagus. Dessert is yellow cake with strawberries and whipped cream. My son did not appreciate my mom joke:
"When you do the cream, do it like Devo." "What are you even talking about?" "Whip it, whip it good!"

Baked beans, bicolour corn, black bean/corn burgers for me, and some kind of giant sausage thingies for him.

And man… I’m apparently STARVED for sweet corn! Sliced off the kernels from TWO ears and ate almost nothing else until it was almost gone.
