Toasted sourdough bread smeared with butter, then very gently laced with marmite and topped lightly with apricot fruit spread. SOOOOO GOOD!
Next favorite is butter mixed with white miso and spread on toasted sourdough bread and topped with apricot fruit spread. Really yummy, but not nearly as good as the one with marmite.

(3,863 posts)For non-meat-eaters, it substitutes for a beefy flavor in gravies and sauces. I eat meat, but even I love the beefy flavor of it. I can't afford to eat roast beef all that often, but marmite satisfies that craving for beefy gravy. I even make a savory oatmeal with it and steel cut oats...tastes like rice and rich, beefy gravy. Yummy stuff.
