Related: About this forumWhat are your sides?
I get a few posts from restaurants that I'd like to try. They are privately owned and they offer traditional daily specials. Today, they have Roasted turkey and dressing, with 2 sides.
Just for fun, what would you pick for sides?
Here is a link to their menu, with sides they offer: https://www.theosrestaurant.us/our-menu/
Or, if you prefer, pick fantasy sides
I haven't eaten at this restaurant, but the family used to have a restaurant on a locally moored paddlewheel called The Becky Thatcher. I ate there, and never forgot how good the food was

GREEN BEANS LYONNAISE
Would sure like onions mixed with the spuds but it's very French Canadian and surely not something they'd do on the fly

(34,988 posts)Turkey and stuffing would be all I need, with a little gravy. The rest is for later, home in a nice box.

If I were cooking, the 2 sides would be:
- mashed turnips (cooked w/ a few potatoes and carrots, mashed w/ butter, salt/pepper)
- green bean casserole (with added mushrooms)
Dessert would be an assortment of pies (pumpkin, mincemeat, apple, cherry, and egg custard)
