Does anyone have experience with smart strand carpet? I have cats...

and an elderly Daddy. He said he's worried about falling and hitting his head on the hardwood floor. Since the floor REALLY needs to be refinished, I think that makes the decision for me. I was thinking laminate bc of the ease of use, and clean up, but Dad's worry is mine too, so...

Also, can this flooring be heated? I am *very* interested in heated flooring.

looking at smart strand. It appears very nice, however I read about 100 reviews and only 5 were favorable. Many complaints about the manufacturer not standing behind their warranty. So my search for new carpeting continues.
