An ode to solid Romex cable, 12/3 and 14/3.

Back in 2000, I had about 500 ft of 12 and 14ga solid wire after building my log home. . Turns out it is an excellent cable for mechanical support, bundling (hoses)

Rough estimate says you have about $1000 worth of wire. usonian Sep 2023 #1
I like the individual conductors for securing things, making soldered ground busses, etc. KY_EnviroGuy Sep 2023 #2

I'd use some poly or clothesline for odds and ends.

I saved all the Romex scraps from wiring my large out-building in the 90s and regularly dip into that stash Easy to strip away the insulation for bare or insulated single conductors.

Too darn expensive to buy it these days.
