Papasan Chair -- Given to my wife, discovered right away by dog and cat.

Hmmm, what do we have here?

Hey KC, what'cha got there?

Cat, can I check it out?

Cat left, Mommy wants Pup to try chair out.

No no, just stay there. Relax.

Okay.

Shadow left. KC came back. Shadow — HEY, I WAS SITTING THERE!

Not now you're not.

Dog complains to photographer who ignores her plight to shoot her.

Aww Crap, Pup gives up. Cat claims comfortable chair.

Purrrrr

If there is a single sheet of paper on any of the surfaces they usually sit on (table, kitchen island, etc), they will preferentially plant themselves on that single sheet of paper as happily as if it were several thicknesses of a plush blanket. Obviously, a single piece of paper cannot possibly make a hard surface feel softer, but they all do it, every time.

I've had cats most of my life, starting at age 5, and I'm now 74, so many years of observing their eccentricities with great delight.

I just love the looks on their faces in the 2nd to last photo. I'll bet that, Shadow will sneak in some Papasan chair time, before too long.
Fun pictures, thank you for posting them, looks like never a dull moment.

He's busy putting a posting together, picking pictures out for today's offering this morning sometime as we speak. He asks that you check back in Pets before breakfast, his determined deadline self imposed.
Thanks, George

PS: Very nice sig quote. Only occasionally is someone accomplished enough as an artist that s/he can communicate to non-artists what it is they really do. I'm glad you found that quote, and passed it on.

Back then my four cats Rustle Sparkle Vinnie and Bear owned it. On any given hour there was at least 1 cat sleeping in it. Most the days it was all 4. Bear and Rustle being big boys would gingerly lay down to accommodate Sparkle our small delicate oriental boy. Vinny laid wherever he fit.
