Pets
Related: About this forumOn Monday, 7/28, I posted this: Home Security (Please pardon post length. I'm wired.)
The incident described did not occur. WHAT I MEANT TO DO was end the posting with a disclaimer stating the incident was entirely fictional. And for not doing that I apologize profusely.
The story came to me when I photographed KC and Shadow sitting, lying down in the doorway. They just looked like guardian pets, watching, listening for any strange sounds, on relaxed alert. So I thought I'd write a short story. Except I forgot the retraction!
I am sorry for any concerns, worries; for giving you, the readers, to understand the narrative was true.

(8,987 posts)KC turns snarling Tony the Tiger Shadow a Wild Wolf with sharp fangs. It is fact that her dewclaws are called wolves claws.
Falsely confident intruder would be no match for them. No contest. Potential bloodbath, 'lest cops come quick. Unless Mommy/Daddy call 911 take up baseball bat, hayfork, call off their pseudo-beasts, conclude crude culprit capture crook placed in stout kitchen straight-back chair bailing twine wound 'round arms and torso, Gorilla Tape stretched taut over mouth (three complete overlapping turns around head), ankles upper arms secured to heavy kitchen chair with horses' lead ropes.
Miscreant incapacitated cops come Shadow barks at them one hands her doggie treat shuts her up KC long gone to his darkened closet cat bed fast asleep safe and sound now that home invaders (bad and good both) leave
his beloved family alone to order take-out pizza milkshakes take a long shower wind down disable alarm clock shock and
and fall asleep.
The End
