I'd like to see a tax on people who breed dogs and cats for sale. Use the tax specifically for animal shelters in the county the breeding facility is in.
I'm getting ready to pay my property taxes. Zero of the money we to pay in taxes to the county goes to support the local shelter. The shelter relies on donations from the public, any grants they are qualified to apply for and get approved to receive, and a small amount from the sheriff for housing strays and observing animals for illness. Our local shelter is trying to be no kill, and lately have been overwhelmed with surrenders and abandoned pets.
