Gryff's new thing is to insist on curling up on which ever pillow I am using. I mean, to the point of pushing my head aside so he can have even MORE comfort. It can be very annoying, especially when I'm trying to fall asleep. He gets a pass, today. At 4am he started stealing my pillow. BTW, there are two other completely unused pillows available, one right next to me. Apparently that's not good enough for Gryff. But I digress. After he woke me up I decided to get a breath of fresh air before the humidity hits 10000000%. It's then that I saw that BEAUTIFUL glowing full moon. I think I caught it just before it dipped behind the tree line.
As for Merlin? When I toast a bagel for breakfast I always spread a little Neufchâtel cheese on a saucer. He LOVES Neufchâtel cheese. I'm careful to limit how much he gets but lactose intolerance doesn't seem to be an issue for him. He also likes to drink milk out of my glass.
Again, I digress. Now having the treat offered on a saucer just isn't sufficient. He insists on licking it off of my finger. On the bright side, he often follows up this routine by giving me kisses.
Honestly, where would I be without these precious kid cats?

(27,658 posts)Don't get me wrong, there's room for him but he just wants the spot beneath my head.
Gryff is just an extremely affectionate boy. It's not enough to cuddle next to me. He has to be touching me. Sometimes it's his paw, sometimes it's his head, sometimes it is his entire body. He's always the first of the kid cats to greet visitors. I have a cousin who is not, at all, a fan of cats. The last time he was here he admitted that his attitude has changed because my kid cats act more like dogs.

(21,441 posts)It figures. Cats are like furry little heat seeking missiles that way (some, like Gryff, much more than others)!
When I get up during the night to go to the bathroom, I often return to find that Willow has claimed the warm spot I left behind. I don't blame her, but that is MY spot, thank you very much! Fortunately, I have worked out a strategy to handle this. I get back into bed, cramming myself into whatever space is left, and crowd her as much as possible, until she finally moves over!

That make it all right with the world.
I currently have no kitties in my world as I have moved far away and so I will probably never see Mikey or the three little girls next door again. Makes me sad to think about it, I hope to find one or two fur babies when I get into a permanent housing situation. Sure hope that's soon!
Cats are a life essential. A home is not a home without a cat.
Enjoyed the kitty privilege updates, Siwsan.

(27,658 posts)Last night I was down on my knees, singing to Carys. Merlin took the opportunity to jump up on my back, no claws involved. I try to do a lot of interacting with the boys when Carys comes out of seclusion, just to reinforce that I'm not a threat. Of course, she never sees me as a threat when I have a tube of Churu in my hand!
I sometimes think I sing to them more often that I talk to them I'm thinking it's a Welsh thing, turning silly little poems in to songs.

(263 posts)My cat does the same thing. If I'm using it. He wants it. Must have it. Chair. Pillows. Couch. Blankets. They're all his.
