Related: About this forumMartini made me cry today.
She has really been fighting me on her medicine lately, clawing, squirming, even growling at me. After I get it in her mouth and manage to get her to swallow it, she takes off to parts unknown.
But she doesn't hold a grudge; she always comes back to sit next to me and accept pets and scritches. I realized it's because she loves me and I was so overcome with emotion, I started to cry. My sweet, sweet Martini. What did I ever do to deserve such a wonderful cat?

(75,275 posts)Do you have a pill shooter? It's a syringe you put a bit of water in, then put the pill in the end.
I got away with this once, then was nearly shredded for 2nd attempt. Lol
Have you tried pill pockets? Treats with a slot for a pill.
Cat bag can be helpful, too...

(7,869 posts)Tiny pills, big dog with a couple square yards of floppy St Bernard lips and I have arthritis in my hands. Who knows where the pill goes?
Solution: a chick pea size bit of liverwurst with pill inside. No more problem
I cut a roll of liverwurst into 1/4 inch slices, wrap each slice in wrap and keep in freezer, keeping one slice in fridge. Of course, the dog who doesn't take the meds gets a bite too. And the old cat gets his little bite.
