3. Same principle, but using a THUNDERSHIRT (or a vest from same company) helps many

My last dog used to go into an interior bathroom and get into the dark shower behind the curtain...Initially I was concerned with leaving her there, but she self-soothed there.

A similar principle is to have one bedroom with insulated black-out curtains you can pull on all windows, some fans to provide background white noise and maybe music or tv with soothing music or sounds--even cable news on low can be helpful). Likewise some soothing scents in a diffuser like lavender or, they do sell collars that release calming scents and they work for many.

We had a big dog who turned into quivering jello when it thundered, or even worse … on July 4th! She’d let us put on the thundershirt without any fuss at all, and it helped!

The flower essence remedies are fabulous and used by many rescue groups and holistic vets.

The ace bandage / thundershirt works on the same premise as a cattle press for people with autism or the weighted blanket that many find so calming.

soldiers with PTSD. There is no possibility of over medicating. In serious situations I have doubled and tripled the recommended dose and found to have received better response.

The Rescue Remedy for pets does not contain alcohol. That is the only difference between the pet and human remedy.
