Related: About this forumNeed some advice regarding Cuddles
Two weeks ago we took Cuddles to the vet as he seemed to have an infected bite of some kind that had gotten significantly worse over a few days.
The cut is healing very well, but ever since we got home, he's been peeing all over, outside the cat box, in the bathroom and other places. I am home all the time so I believe I would have noticed it he started doing this before then.
We called the vet back and they gave us Cosequin which I have been giving and he has been eating well.
I'm hoping he's mad because we tortured him by going to the vet, I swear he was having flashbacks to the day we were going to re-home him only to have him run off into the woods and for Toby to completely lose it in grief after having to give him up.
I've set up a follow up appointment for Thursday, I'll talk to Toby as that bill will be around three hundred dollars and he just went back to work.
Long story short, I have two questions.
1. What is the best product to get urine smell out of carpets?
2. Have you had similar behavior related issues like this with your kitty? Did anything help?
We will likely go back to the vet to make sure his blood work and urine are fine but suggestions for getting him to stop would be great.
Thank you for your feedback.

(82,778 posts)I believe it offers a $ back guarantee. I believe you can get it at Pet Smart. If not, Chewy has it.
You might want to get him his own litter box.
There are various enzymatic products to remove urine smell. The problem is that it soaks into padding under carpet.
Good luck!
Healing vibes on the way to your sweet Cuddles.

(104,967 posts)In wrong places is usually due to them trying to tell you something's amiss.
There's a product called Nature's Own or something like that, will take out the smell. There are probably others or possibly something you already have available, check labels.
Hope things get better for all of you.

(6,898 posts)He's active, plays with Shadow a lot, eats and drinks etc.
It really makes me wonder if he's mad at me for taking him there, as this all began the next day.

(104,967 posts)Could end in a day or so. Is he on internal medication? that could be a factor.

(18,923 posts)"gets out the smell" not "removes stains." The removes stains has soap in it and doesn't work as well.

(1,140 posts)Where was the injury? Could he be having trouble getting into and out of the litterpan? If so, is there something with a lower lip that he could use for a little while? (Yes, you'll probably want to throw it out afterwards, and you'll need to do a lot of sweeping the litter he scatters.) And a 'cat attract' product may help him understand that this is where he's supposed to go.
